Birthday's and Holiday's
Jun. 12th, 2004 01:14 pmIt really doesn't feel like my birthday today, but it is. Today I am 23 years old. However, I won't be doing anything for it mainly because I had my celebration last night with my friends. I met up with
alarielle and
omegar last night for the usual Friday night meal out in Dublin. Of course there was the immense fun of playing a rather random game with
alarielle about world domination. Much fun was had discussing the intricacies of the power struggle of our organisations and sections and the people controlled by each. You know one of those days when serious talk really wrecks your brain so all you want to do is not think too hard, well, this game is perfect for that...
After the meal in Pizza Hut, with my favourite pizza and my favourite people to hang out with, we headed off to Sufi's. Really enjoyed myself in Sufi's. Got to see a few people that I haven't seen for over a year due to a slightly coloured view provided by the Evil Bitch from Hell who had control of my brain - (She's gone now so all is okay again). There were a few people I would have liked there who couldn't make it but it was a great night.
maeritrae showed up with a fabulous new haircut, even though she doesn't like it, I think it really suited her. Thanks hon :)
Unfortunately, Sufi's closed a little early and we moved to the Exchequer Bar (which my phone doesn't seem to think is a word) to wait for a friend to return from work, however, seeing as he has the time-keeping ability of someone to whom time doesn't exist, it was much later than expected when he arrived and they decided to go to Zanzibar. I've never been there, no idea what it was like but the words coffee were mentioned and I assumed that it was a nice quiet late place... I was wrong! Felt really bad cause
alarielle didn't have much fun there. I know she was tired but was a little sorry we went to a place where she wasn't really comfortable. :(
Today, I am spending packing for a holiday tomorrow to Arthurian Britian, Devon and Cornwall. I'm kinda looking forward to it but it is with family, so p's and q's need to be watched (incidentally an English expression which hails from the fact that English bartenders shouted out "Mind your Pints and Quarts" during bar fights to make cleaning up easier - as it always is when people don't spill beer on the floor). They seem to think that we shall be going on a pub crawl, oh Gods but I don't wanna go drinking with my parents. But apart from that it should be a very good holiday, scenic, historic, relaxing.
*grin* special thanks have to go out to
alarielle for the wonderful presents and the brilliant company and suffering discomfort,
omegar for the t-shirt that proves that everyone has a dirty mind on some level and Siobhan for the crystal violin done with lasers.
To be honest, the whole thing wasn't about presents (I was told that it should be), it was about meeting up with friends so most people got the "So you coming to Sufi's on Friday night!" message instead of "It's my birthday, wanna come to my party?".
*grin* Walked into the health food store in Virginia this morning, wearing the t-shirt and the guy couldn't keep a straight face and asked if I minded turning to face a different direction so he could talk to my Mum. Honestly, a bit of an overreaction ... after all there is a pretty kitty on the t-shirt. :)
Possibly there will be updates while I am gone, if I manage to find a CyberCafe :) But that will depend on where the hell we are ... Never been there before but it should be interesting :) If I don't post, its probably because I have been hijacked by my parents and am being kept in the relative seclusion of a ford focus driving around Devon/Cornwall. If I'm not back in 12 days, call the police, they've kidnapped me :) *grin*
Bye for now
