Gaelcon Charity Action
Oct. 31st, 2005 12:57 amRight... Boy did I do something stupid! Worthwhile but stupid! €600 for 2 tickets to Confess, 2 Tanith Lee (soft core porn) books and a really old (really bad) 45 record... But it's going to CARI (Children At Risk in Ireland) and Debra (Butterfly Children) and various other charities.
The Tanith Lee books are (hopefully) getting signed by the Author, if I can find her before next years, and put back into the action and if all plans out well... Every author at PCon is going to be asked to sign a copy of at least one of their books and these are going to be put into the Gaelcon Charity auction too...
This, I may need help with,
slovobook I'm looking at you for this. I don't think that anyone would particularly mind being asked to sign a copy of their books for a charity action (especially one which donates to children's charities), but if there's anything that you can think of let me know.
The total raised this year was €30,000. I mean, bloody hell, that is an awful lot of money. The Dominicon tickets went for €400 which isn't bad and another pint of Creme de Menthe will be bought. God help the poor sod who has to drink it, that's all I say.
Gaelcon day 3 tomorrow followed by Nimhneach... Should be large amounts of fun...
