'I come sick to the doctor of life,
unclean to the fountain of mercy,
blind to the radiance of eternal light,
and poor and needy to the Lord of Heaven and Earth.'

I heard his footsteps echoing through the deserted chapel as I knelt, finishing my daily prayer. I could feel his anxiety like static electricity as he bounced from foot to foot. He had been told by the other priests that he was not to interrupt when we were praying. I smiled slightly and finished up my prayer quickly, blessing myself and pushing myself stiffly to my feet. The downside of a life of prayer and devotion was the loss of feeling in the knees and the shooting pains as blood suddenly discovered that my feet existed again. But compared to the feeling of peace and oneness that I had, it was nothing. The boy coughed and I looked over at him.

"They're here, seƱor. Outside."

Sitting here, backing up my old computer, Daniel. Unfortunately, it's a Win98 (2nd Ed) system which is on the verge of crashing (7 years - can't say I blame it) and didn't find the external hard drive automatically. 250GB hard drives are a little too big for it to address without help, it seems.

Anyway, thought that I'd share some thoughts...

1. I love the country. There is a sign at the end of our road announcing the annual Virginia Fair.

"Annual Virginia Vintage Fair - Now in Killinkere"

For those not familiar with Cavan, Killinkere is a village about 6 miles away from Virginia. So the Virginia Fair is now being held in a town that is not Virginia. *facepalm*

2. I am starting to hate backups. The computer is pausing every couple of seconds to catch up with itself or crash explorer... Not sure which, but it's annoying.

3. I finally got around to writing out a piece of fiction that has been bugging me for a week after a rather weird dream. Still not sure if I'm going to continue it or not yet, but the second part of it has mapped itself out and my brain has given the entire thing a name - "Faith Abandoned". If you're curious, click here.

4. Wrote a short drabble about the Shadowrun characters, mainly mine (Kellen), but Pink is in there too... click here to read it.

5. Last night's Doctor Who was pants... Complete and utter pants. What on Earth were they thinking? Yes, yes, it's nice to see that fangirls exist and to hear the almost lucid ramblings of one of them (even if he was technically a boy) but ... BBC implying a relationship between a man and a paving slab, that was a bit creepy. Honestly, one of the worst I've seen. New Earth was bad because it was rushed. School Reunion was a fan hattip and nothing more. The Cybermen episodes good points could be counted on two fingers - Mickey and the older spy lady. But to be honest, I couldn't find a redeeming point in last night's episode. *Sigh*

Um .... Think that's it really... *pokes Daniel - other computer* ... Copy faster damnit.
