So, it seemed that the capital went nuts as idiots took to the streets. People described it as "worse than Beirut", which you do have to consider as funny. Beirut hasn't really been a city in the news for a long time, most of the fighting is in other towns and cities, so while accurate, was misinformed. But yes, loyalists thought it would be fun to walk through the city. Republican's had other ideas. And the associated opportunistic skangers... Well they did what they do best and caused more havoc than the rioters. Although, looking at O'Connell Street... The looters must have had something against shoe shops. The shops with boarded up windows are FootLocker, Schuh and Clarkes, all shoe stores.

In other words, I actually cooked real food on Saturday night for someone else and they haven't died so far. This is a good thing. I don't cook very often and most of the stuff that I make for myself usually comes from a packet with microwaving instructions. But I made lasagne with chicken instead of beef, no onion (cause I can't stand it), sundried tomatoes and veg. for flavouring. And it worked ^_^ Me is proud.

Ordered a book off Amazon this morning, the fourth Merry Gentry book, mainly cause I really like the series. It doesn't have silly things like plot getting in the way of the smut. I'm only slightly kidding. They are well written and have a vague semblance of story but are easy to read with likable characters. Think Belgarion with slightly more character depth and smut. However, Amazon amazed me. The book cost standard book price of about €9, shipping (3-7 days) cost €7. The express delivery (1-2 days) cost €36. That is rediculous. Shipping should never cost 4 times the price of the item, no matter how quickly it is shipped. Needless to say that I am suffering the extra delay to save some money.

But that brings me to the second issue. It claims to have a published date of Nov 2006. Now, nowhere on this does it say that I have preordered the book. In fact on my delivery email, it has suggested dates of 4-6 weeks, no later than the end of the first week of April 2006. This confuses me somewhat. Is it a typo? Is it supposed to be that? I'm confused...

Ah well... It'll get here when it gets here... Just like my copy of Serenity, which seems to be like internet golddust, btw.
