For the last couple of years, friends (well one particular friend) have told me that this is a fantastic festival and that there is some great music, great atmosphere at it ... This years line up includes:

BAUHAUS | WITHIN TEMPTATION | NITZER EBB | IN EXTREMO | MINISTRY | FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY | APOPTYGMA BERZERK | THE GATHERING | ASP | BLUTENGEL | DEATHSTARS | TERMINAL CHOICE | DIE KRUPPS | TRISTANIA | IN STRICT CONFIDENCE | THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE | FUNKER VOGT | SAMSAS TRAUM | LETZTE INSTANZ | UNHEILIG | ROTERSAND | EPICA | GIRLS UNDER GLASS | LIV KRISTINE | GOTHMINISTER | CLAN OF XYMOX | DOPE STARS INC. | SPETSNAZ | ELIS | SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS | SOMAN | XPQ21 | NORTHERN LITE | SONO | LLUTHER | REGICIDE | MIDNATTSOL | MONA MUR feat. ST. CLAIRE

And I really wanna go... Means I'm gonna have to save up. Mainly cause it's in Germany! *pout* And of course, that will involve flying. So at the moment, the list of stuff to take into consideration monitary-wise is:
1 - Plane Ticket
2 - Enough Alcohol to get me plastered so I won't have a panic attack and run away from the plane
3 - Ticket to the festival
4 - Cost of renting tent, etc.
5 - Accommodation
6 - Beer money
7 - Food money

Anything I've forgotten?

You'd be right ^_^ It's Bounce's wonderful Daddy! Who I'm kinda hoping to meet there cause he never misses it and is now working for Dancing Ferret Disks as far as I know who are the label that most of them are with (well... I know a fair few of them are)

Unfortunately only one of the bands on the line-up are signed with us. The very cool Gothminister, whose show will include the wonderfully creepy Dementia. If I ever become a willingless love-slave to a woman, it will be her :P (Just kidding, you know I'd never allow anyone to break my will *smirks*)

Bands on the line-up I can very much recommend however, are Bauhaus (never saw them live, but 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' sends shivers up my spine every time), the Birthday Massacre (will see them next week here, they are awesome) and In Extremo (awesome stage-show, especially once they bring in the flamethrowers)

I am still in my own planning stages on going there. My main priority right now is Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig. I am actually getting paid to go and meet the bands *GLEE* M'era Luna will be a for fun thing (any kind of fun that's to be had *winks*). Still might be able to score a ticket through work :P

Here's the things to remember to bring to ML:

plane ticket (obviously)

train ticket from wherever in Germany you land to either a) Hildesheim, or b) my place so you can carpool with me and some people that might be going as well

festival ticket

tent (you can easily buy a lightweight tent at any motorcycle store (Louis or Polo) in Germany for about 25-30 euros. Of course if you can borrow a tent somewhere, even better.

sunscreen... trust me on this, you will need it, unless it's rained out again like last year. but you don't want to be without

digital camera, so you can take pictures and brag about all the cool bands you saw and the weird people you met

It's generally easier and cheaper to buy alcohol and food in Germany, unless you want to lug it all over the place with you. There is more than enough vendors at the actual festival grounds, so there is no real need to bring food for three days, and the food is reasonably (for a festival) cheap

did I mention sunscreen?

the best way to pack is to get a hiker's backpack, since it will have more than enough space for the stuff you'll want to bring, as well as the CDs/clothing you WILL end up buying at the festival itself.

I personally won't be buying too many CDs this year (gotta love readily available great music at a discount :P) but I might end up buying some gear this year.

Sleeping bags are optional, but might be a good idea. Depending on how much actual sleeping you're planning on doing.

In case we don't get to carpool I will send you my cell-number before the concert, so we can hook up errr meet at the campsite and get good spots. If I get people to come with me (or you to meet me there) I will bring a pavillon tent, a camping table, and some chairs, for purposes of hanging out after/before the shows. Some people I met last year did that, and it was pretty cool.

Last words, I am now occasionally on YIM again, and I will TRY to update my LJ more frequently. I will see if I can catch you online so we can make some better plans and I can satisfy your needs for information >:)

Thought Clan of Xymox and In Strict Confidence were signed with DFD as well!

Definately want to hook up *em* meet up! ^_^

I have some of Bauhaus on my machine here and they're good, I imagine better in person. But will probably be bringing a friend or two with me... One living in Germany already but I'll definately grab your phone number off you.

And yes! Update LJ more! *grin*

Mwahahaha, and I know none of them...this should be interesting >:D

Any word yet on Cruxshadows....cause, really, they're the ones I reeeeeeally want to see!

I thought we could hire tents from the concert people...I need to check the website again, maybe I read it wrong. Try to get a flight to Bremen if you can (and it's not more expensive than one to Hannover) then we can all catch ze traaaaain together, woo! At least with some of those items, costs will be shared~

Bon is scared of planes? *snuggles*

The European tour of the Cruxies is going to be between October and December 06. They will be in South America and Asia before then.

Not sure. I only know that they will be in Europe at that time, but I don't know where.

BTW, I now am in a position to buy Inkubus Sukkubus stuff easily. When I came here I found that we had almost every album title in stock. Result, I now own six or seven of their CDs. I shall not apologize for getting you hooked, but expect a fair and just punishment :P

If you want some recommendations for cool music, check out:
Ayria... Debris is pretty good, Flicker is awesome
Nik Page... haven't heard Sinmachine, but Sacrifight is pretty sweet
Faun... Renaissance is very, very cool
The Last Dance... if I didn't know better, I'd swear the singer sounds like Rogue
Voltaire... I think I told you about him... if not, I should have
Ego Likeness... Water to the Dead is pretty damn good, and they are nice people. Take a look at their livejournal, look for the lj-cut saying 'philly photos' and see me hanging out with them and Voltaire :P

We are also releasing a Neil Gaiman tribute album in June which will feature some awesome tracks :)

The Last Dance - I have two of their albums and love them. Very similar style to some of the other bands you got me hooked on. *mock glare*

Voltaire - I have "When You're Evil" and am generally impressed. There is another song on my harddrive that I've just downloaded but haven't gotten around to listening to yet.

Ego Likeness - I have a few remixes by them, some on CXS songs afaik but other stuff as well.

I don't expect an apology. They're a good band. Hell, we have the same taste in music. How else am I supposed to discover new bands if not through someone with the same music taste and access to more bands than I have.

No punishment? *sniffs* Really? *puppy dog eyes* But I was bad... I got you hooked on so much music

Voltaire is a great guy. I met him when we did a premiere party for a movie we did the US soundtrack for. Kristanna Loken was there as our guest of honor (and she is a damn cool lady), and Voltaire came up from NYC for a visit. When I met him I just said "I wish I had known you'd be here. Now I have nothing for you to sign" So he just reached into his bag, pulled out a CD, signed it, and gave it to me. And it was the only one of his albums I didn't (legally) have. He made a really hilarious Star Trek spoof EP called Banned on Vulcan. Order it on Isotank NOW :P

After all, I am now part of the industry. I can no longer condone downloading. You have been bad. Naughty, naughty Bon :P (jk, just don't download stuff on our label without then buying their CDs ;) )

Believe it or not... All my downloads are legal these days. I paid an inordanent amount of money to a website and they took the years subscription out at once so am making use of it!

In that case I shall think of many more artists to recommend to you :P Take a look at:
Qntal
Faun
Tanzwut
Death in June (very controversial it seems, but I liked what I heard so far)
Pzychobitch
Lunascape
KMFDM (yeah, I should not have to mention them, but hey)
VNV Nation
Apoptygma Berzerk
ASP
Deine Lakaien
Diary of Dreams
Sol Invictus (again controversial but good)
Hagalaz Runedance

And probably a shitload of other bands I will think of later :P

Heard Lunascape before but the site that I buy them off doesn't have a European agreement with them. *sigh*

Will look up the rest ^_^

*snuggles to you and Bounce*

Have you checked our mailorder? seeing as you order off a website, our shipping costs aren't that high, especially with the euro the way it is. And some stuff I know you like, we get early and cheap (how does a Cruxshadows full-length album (new one will be out later this year) for 13.49 US$ (i.e. 10 Euro) sound?)

And we have a huge selection
