So why is it that I find myself reading bad romance novels? In the past 4 days, I have polished off Kinley MacGregor's Master of Desire (another of the McAllister series), Master of Seduction (her pirate series) and am in the middle of A Pirate of her Own (second part of her pirate series). They are fun, alright I'll admit it, but lack any real substance. I also managed to finish off A Fistful of Charms, fourth book in the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison but for some reason I found it much harder to read than her other three books - but could have been the timing and what else was going on in my little world.

I have the ConFess scenario plotted out and planned and about 30% written. *sigh* Not really in the headspace to write it but it will get done one way or another.

Dad's getting out of hospital as I type and he's dead chuffed. Heartrate is still up but it's being caused by the arrythmia so there is nothing that they can do about it for another 4-5 weeks. He was getting stir crazzy inside and he's happy to be out and be able to walk around in a different four walls. He has to take it easy for a week now before he can get back in the swing of thing and has to be monitored weekly to make sure that he's on the right track, but he's getting out!!!! Already he's arguing with me about exactly how my stitches are going to be removed... He doesn't want me to take them out myself. Hell, I've done it before and they aren't hard to get out. Ah well, what he doesn't know won't hurt me!

Good to hear your dad's feeling better! With regards to the stitches thing, i would have to agree with him, it's better for them to be taken out by a doctor or nurse. Reason being, if there is any infection or it hasn't healed right (which is unlikely i know, but still....) they will be better able to make a determination of whats to be done.
The fact that they are in a spot which would be kinda hard for you to see would make me be that bit more careful, i think.

So far, there is no infection. Everything is healing nicely and there is some play in the stitches. This being the reason that I know I can take them out without hassle.

Because bad romance novels are good? They're absorbing, engaging, mentally relaxing and just NICE to read :).

*grin* While this is all true ... Why have I forked out money on reading bad romance novels (one series of 6 focusing on the Scots and one series of 2 on pirates and I suppose including the 10 odd books in the Dark Hunter series that can be classified as bad romance novels too)? They are wonderfully quick to read, mildly amusing but utterly pointless in the long run :) Hang on.. Maybe that's why I read them :)
