I'm just after realising that my vocabulary has switched to it's country version where words like 'wee', 'ach' and 'ye' are prevalent. The more time I spend in the country, the more of these northern words I pick up. And what's worse is that I don't know how! My parents don't use them. And they along with the driving instructor and tester - neither of whom used them - they're the only people I've talked to.

Go to Cork, and invariably pick up the accent as soon as we cross the border without talking to anyone. (Got a lucky break from that for Warpcon this year - no accent to be heard at all!) Don't talk to a Northerner and pick up the lingo. *sigh* My brain and language centers are just odd I reckon!

We went on a vacation to the south once when I was little and I came back saying "y'all." It is SUCH a hard habit to break. Stupid southernisms!
