When he starts to make moves to take control of the business however, someone takes exception to this and puts a contract out on his life and the life of his little sister. Enter Jensen Ackles, ex-soldier and current mercenary ready and willing to put his life on the line to save Jared and get them to safety. However, things get more complicated when they start to develop non-professional feelings for one another during the run. Will they? Won’t they? Find out in Dreaming in Cordite.

I'm normally a comment lurker, but I have to give a tip of the hat for this soundtrack. I like your taste in music :3♥ It's a fun as heck mix of groups/music I'm familiar with and ones I've not heard of before but am rapidly falling for. Gotta love having new bands to go looking for more of :D

Very much looking forward to reading the story this evening--love the genre, so should be most nifty.

Which ones had you heard of? And which are you rapidly falling in love with? I'm curious I have to admit... Usually people give my music tastes a wide berth.

Hope you enjoy the story :)

My music tastes are seriously all over the place, heh. But I'd heard the AC/DC, Linkin Park, Gavin Rosdale (though I'd forgotten which soundtrack that was from, had to go look it up), Papa Roach Rammstein, and Bon Jovi stuff before, though. Oh, and the Blade Runner end theme--man, I remember going nuts when they released the director's cut of that when I was in college.

Triumph was a rediscovery, as I thought it was new to me until I checked the previews out at Amazon--I'll have to nab their Allied Forces cd sometime just to have that 'hair bands of my childhood' thing 8D. But I really, really fell for Firewind--had an online friend introducting me to all sorts of metal bands from all over the world a few years back, been craving new ones since. Just had a heyday nabbing their mp3 cds. ^^;

I'm also going to find more CruxShadows, that was really cool, and *definitely* more Covenant. Definitely, definitely! (Soon as I stop feeling bad for getting so much Firewind, heh). I'd sort of been curious about them when seeing them recced due to previous VNV Nation and Assemblage 23 purchases, but never had taken the plunge.

Gotta love fanmixes <3 It's seriously some of the best advertising out there.

Definitely the best advertising. I got into Firewind when a friend offered me a ticket to a gig they were doing (the Premonition tour) so I found some of their music and well... I was hooked. Unfortunately, neither myself or my friend ended up going to the concert so that sucked.

Cruxshadows, for some reason I used to think were German but they're from the US. Went to a couple of their concerts and seriously, if you have a chance, go! Good music, great atmosphere and one of the most feel good gigs ever. Rogue (lead singer) jumps off stage and dances with the crowd.

Got introed to VNV nation thru a soundtrack one of my friends threw together and loved them. Great fun. Although for Assemblage 23, I generally only find their mixes on other people's albums. They did a couple for Cruxshadows way back but their style is great and the remastery is very good.

If you like Cruxshadows, try In Strict Confidence or The Last Dance. Fairly close in style.
