Today I got a check in the mail... It was signed. It was blank!

What exactly is stopping me from filling in an inflated amount and going to the bank to cash it?

Nothing...

Well, that's not quite true... My own sense of morals and right and wrong!

There was a signature and that was it...

Called them up and sorted it out. And bonus, they are going to lodge it for me and everything now so I don't have to sneak out at lunchtime and go to the bank which is guaranteed to be just full of people and have one of those annoying "you have to close one door before the other will open but people keep pulling the other door open before you can press the button to get the inner door open" doors...
