1. Which Cheese?
Ooh, thats a toughie! Battlestar Galactica *grin*
I don't really eat cheese but when I do, usually that spreadable stuff with ham included. (I like my meat). Brie is good too but only on special occasions.

2. Do you believe in the death penalty?
Yes. I do believe in the death penalty. I think that some people are not able to be rehabilitated for their crimes. Sociopaths and psychopaths who have killed or raped multiple times but still show no remorse should be put to death for their crimes. They will never fit back into society and the only other option is to have them stay in jail for the rest of their lives, draining the state of resources. When asked if they will kill again, the answer is usually yes. However, it can be a very think line between the rational and irrational mind. This is why I don't agree with the death penalty for every murder case or every rape case, indeed every 'capital offence'. There is a serial killer in the States that thinks of himself as "Bind, Torture, Kill" or "BTK". This man has shown no remorse, no mercy, no hint that redemption is possible. If he is caught, what choices have they - put him up in a room with cable, books, access to mail for the rest of his life, or put him out of Wichita's misery. In short, I do believe in it, but not as a standard punishment. Instead, as an extraordinary punishment dealt out to the scariest, most threatening, most unredeemable members of society who flaunt the law to continue their perverse pleasures torturing, killing, sexually assaulting and dumping their victims.

3. Is the pub a factor that is detrimental to irish society and inter-personal realtions?
Detremental to Irish society, yes, to interpersonal relations, I don't think so. Irish society seems to revolve around pubs. I have even seen Pioneer meetings being held in a pub, for God's sake. The Irish have the image of being an alcohol loving society, never far from a pub. In fact, a person can hardly be thought of by foreigners as Irish unless they like going to pubs. I go to pubs, cause there is generally no where else to go. I never liked them, because I have hung out in pubs all my life, and now technically own one. However, with this smoking ban, they are a little more inviting to me. But still, what would the harm be for a few late opening coffee shops or such be? Pubs tempt people to slide down the slippery slope to alcoholism, and to be honest I think that it is an easy slope to slide down. That is the only way that I think that it damages interpersonal relationships, by leaving the participants open to alcoholism and the associated problems.
